Slack Tide Inn is a cozy, family-run enterprise situated across from the sandy beaches of Cox Bay on the outskirts of Tofino, BC. Nestled in the rainforest bordering the UNESCO biosphere, this south-facing property is home to hummingbirds, blue jays, eagles, ravens and myriad other birds; the occasional wolf runs through at dawn or dusk.
The primary residence on the property has two levels with the B&B on the bottom floor and the owners’ home above. On the owners’ level there are 2 bedrooms plus a loft. The Rainforest suite on the other side is adequate for 2 people with a queen bed, kitchenette with a mini-fridge, two-burner stovetop, and a bathroom with a shower.
There's a comfy living area and a deck out front of the home and an outdoor shower, hot tub and sauna in behind, surrounded by the coastal rain forest.
Additional improvements include two tiny homes, 4 sheds, and a sea can for storage, making it an ideal family retreat. The tiny homes are hooked up to services and are very comfortable, one has its own private hot tub.

Tofino is a small district on the west coast of Vancouver Island, in the traditional territory of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations. It sprawls on a peninsula within Clayoquot Sound, which is characterised by wild natural scenery including lakes, inlets and ancient rainforest. Sandy beaches with year-round surfing facilities include Cox Bay, Chesterman Beach and popular Long Beach, which is part of the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. It is a popular year-round tourism destination with a population of approximately 1,900 residents.
Cox Bay or "Surf Beach" is one of the area’s most popular surf breaks as well as a common tourist’s location. A small parking lot and short walk give easy access to the bay. The west facing direction and shape of the 1.5 km beach enhances the action of the swell to make Cox Bay the most consistent beach break in the Pacific Rim. Several of the largest resorts on the west coast are also on Cox Bay’s shores. Romantic sunset walks are a common sight. The wind blown and gnarled trees bordering the beach provide a hedge unlike other beaches in the Pacific Rim.
The name was changed from False Bay to Cox Bay, taking the name of John Henry Cox who led one of the earliest fur trading expeditions to the area.
Surfing, hiking, camping, bird watching, whale watching, fishing, swimming and generally enjoying nature.
